PARISH GROWTH AND STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE
Our Parish’s Vision: To be a flourishing Orthodox Christian Church, welcoming all with faith, love, and charity.
Our Parish’s Mission: We change the lives of all, by nourishing the faith, inspiring charitable acts, communicating with grace, and embracing our community.
The Saint Demetrios Parish Growth & Stewardship Committee has wholeheartedly adopted our Parish Vision and Mission and strives to serve our community consistent with our Orthodox Church Stewardship principles and our Parish Vision and Mission! Orthodox Christian Stewardship is a way of life, which acknowledges accountability, reverence, and responsibility before God. The primary goals of the Parish Growth & Stewardship Committee is to grow our Parish by increasing the number of active stewards, increasing participation in ministries, promoting spiritual growth, and strengthening faith. Stewardship is a dedication of time, talent and treasures. We do not see our role as a committee as solely devoted to financial Stewardship; we focus our efforts on growing participation in our various spiritual and fellowship ministries and increasing our community service and outreach programs.
What is Stewardship? Stewardship is our grateful and loving response to God’s love, grace and gifts to us. It is our personal commitment to God and His Church to ensure its vitality and continuous growth by joyfully and sacrificially offering of our talents, time, and treasures that we have received from Him. Stewardship puts our faith in action and demonstrates our trust in God. Stewardship includes volunteering time and contributing talents, as well as the personal and financial contribution people make to support the operation and ministries of our Church. Financial contributions help us sustain and ultimately grow our Church and the good works we do. |
At the heart of our committee’s work is the desire to grow our parish—welcome back returning stewards, finding new stewards, including those that are learning about Orthodox Christianity, and increasing the participation of current stewards. Our goal is to make our Parish the best it can be, a welcoming Parish, a faithful Parish, and a financially strong Parish that can support, grow, and bring out the best in our ministries. To do this, we need to do our best to listen to our all of our Parish, regardless of age, whether an existing Steward for decades, years, days, or a prospective Steward. Our commitment is to continue to find ways to hear the hopes and dreams of our community, to strengthen our ministries and outreach programs, and grow Parish participation.
